What it is. Chaga grows on birch trees in the cold forests of Siberia, Scandinavia and Canada. It does not look like a typical mushroom it forms a hard, black mass on the bark, almost like burnt wood, with a golden-brown interior. Ours is wild-harvested, never cultivated.
