Which Mushroom Extract Is Right For You?
Share
Four different fungi, four individual stories. If you are new to mushroom extracts, choosing your first bottle can feel like learning a new language.
Start by getting to know what makes each extract different. The species, source material and preparation all help you understand your choice. Here is an introduction to the four extracts in the Valdspore collection.
🍄 Lion’s Mane: A Distinctive Fruiting Body
Lion’s Mane, Hericium erinaceus, is recognised by its soft white spines. Its appearance is unusual, and its history reaches from cooking to modern mushroom supplements.
Our extract uses organic fruiting bodies, the visible mushroom structure. The extract ingredient is a 15:1 dual extract, standardised to 20% beta-glucans and 30% polysaccharides. Those percentages describe the extract ingredient, rather than the finished liquid.
If you like knowing exactly which part of a mushroom is used and seeing specific composition information, this is a useful bottle to explore. Take a closer look at our Lion’s Mane Extract.
🌳 Chaga: A Story From The Northern Forests
Chaga, Inonotus obliquus, looks very different from a familiar mushroom. Its dark, rugged growth and rusty brown interior make it instantly distinctive. In nature, it is closely associated with birch trees in colder northern regions.
Its history includes preparation as a hot-water infusion. Our bottle offers a 15:1 dual extract in a liquid format, with 300 mg of Chaga extract in each recommended 3 ml serving.

🌾 Cordyceps: Meet Cultivated CS-4
The famous Cordyceps story is connected with the highlands of Tibet and the Himalayas. The ingredient in our bottle follows a modern cultivated route.
We use Cordyceps sinensis CS-4 mycelium grown through fermentation. Mycelium is the network of fine fungal threads. This is a different source material from the wild caterpillar fungus or the orange fruiting bodies of Cordyceps militaris.
For anyone curious about cultivation and the different ways fungi become supplements, CS-4 offers a particularly interesting starting point. Explore our Cordyceps Extract.
🌲 Reishi: A Mushroom With A Lasting Cultural Story
Reishi is known for its firm, woody fruiting body and glossy appearance. Its traditional names, including Lingzhi, connect it with a long history in East Asian culture.
Our Ganoderma lucidum extract uses organic fruiting bodies. Reishi also has a distinctive bitter character, making flavour a practical part of choosing how to take it.
If you are drawn to mushrooms with a rich cultural background and an unmistakable identity, discover our Reishi Extract.
💧 Different Ingredients, The Same Practical Format
All four Valdspore extracts come in 100 ml bottles with marked pipettes. They are alcohol-free, with final processing and bottling carried out in Estonia.
At the recommended daily serving of 3 ml, one bottle provides approximately 33 servings. That makes it easy to compare the format while exploring the differences between the ingredients.
Read the individual product details and label before choosing. If you have a particular health question, a doctor or pharmacist can help you check suitability.
🍂 Choosing Your First Bottle
You do not need to begin with all four. Choose the extract that interests you, read its ingredient details and find a convenient place for it in your routine.
Starting with one also makes it easier to get to know its taste and your own experience. For a closer introduction to each fungus, explore our Understanding Our Mushrooms articles, then return to the bottle that caught your attention.
